In July 2009, Walmart announced its Sustainability Index for its product suppliers, including 15 Questions for Suppliers to answer regarding their environmental and social impacts of their production processes. Walmart's 15 Questions for Suppliers cover four major areas: Energy and Climate, Material Efficiency, Natural Resources and People and Community.
